Brows & Lips Design
FAQ
I don’t know how I want my brows to look. How do I decide?
That is Brow & Blink’s job. Your artist will map, measure, and recommend a shape that flatters your features and matches your everyday style, and will explain if a requested look is not suitable for your face or skin.
I’m not sure what treatment best suits me – ombre, nano, combination or lip blush. Can I get help choosing?
Yes. You can email clear photos of your bare brows and/or lips in natural light, plus screenshots of styles you like, and Brow & Blink will recommend the most suitable treatment for your skin, features and lifestyle.
Booking & Deposits
I want to make an appointment but I don’t want to pay a deposit. Can I still book?
No. Brow & Blink requires a security deposit for all bookings to reduce no‑shows and respect studio time. If you cancel at least 48 hours before your appointment, your deposit is refunded minus a small service fee, in line with the studio’s current policy.
What is your cancellation policy? I work on call.
Brow & Blink requires a minimum of 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment; late changes may result in forfeiting your deposit and you can only reschedule once per deposit. If you work on call, it is best to book on a confirmed day off or wait for last‑minute availability so you are less likely to need changes.
I’m trying to book for myself and a few friends but can’t select us all online. What should I do?
For group or back‑to‑back bookings, email or call Brow & Blink with the treatments each person wants and preferred dates and times so the team can coordinate your appointments manually.
I’m selecting treatments but there are no time options available. Why is that?
The treatment combination or your selected artist may not be available together in the online system. Get in touch directly and Brow & Blink can check the schedule, suggest another time, or adjust the booking to make it work.
On the Day of Treatment
What happens on the day of my appointment?
You complete a detailed consultation form so your artist can understand your skin, health, and goals, and discuss any contraindications with you. A topical numbing cream is applied, your brows or lips are carefully mapped and pre‑drawn, and only once you approve the shape and colour does the actual tattooing begin.
Colour, Pigment & Tools
What colours can I choose from for my brows or lips?
Brow & Blink custom‑mixes pigments based on your skin undertone, skin type, and natural hair or lip colour instead of letting clients pick shades from a bottle. The initial colour may look stronger or warmer than the final healed result; it usually softens and settles over several weeks.
Do your pigments contain oxides?
Brow & Blink works with modern professional pigments that minimise issues like stubborn white oxide build‑up and are selected for long‑term, natural‑looking fading. If you have specific ingredient concerns or past pigment history, you can request more detailed information before booking.
Do you use disposable tools and equipment?
All tools that touch the skin are either single‑use and disposed of after each client or are sterilised to meet strict hygiene standards. Brow & Blink adheres to health regulations and maintains high sanitation protocols throughout every treatment.
Healing, Results & Touch-Ups
I want a very natural look. Will one treatment be enough?
Usually not. The first session at Brow & Blink is conservative to test how your skin heals and how the pigment behaves, and you can expect noticeable softening of colour as you heal. At the 6–8 week touch‑up, your artist refines shape, density, and colour so the result can still look soft and natural while being even and long‑lasting.
Why do I need multiple treatments to get the best result?
Layering pigment over two (and occasionally three) sessions allows your brows or lips to heal with dimension and texture rather than as a flat block of colour. It also gives room to adjust shade, shape, and intensity once your artist has seen how your skin responds.
What if I decide not to maintain my brows after a year or more?
Cosmetic brow and lip tattoos gradually fade over time, so if you stop doing touch‑ups, the colour will slowly soften and disappear. During this fading phase many clients find it easier to fill in with regular makeup because there is still a soft guide underneath.
Previous Work, Corrections & Removals
I’ve had my brows done elsewhere and I don’t like them. Can Brow & Blink help?
Often yes, but it depends on your existing tattoo. You will be asked to send clear photos so Brow & Blink can assess whether correction, cover, or referral for laser removal is the safest option. For older block brows or very dark, cool tattoos, lightening or laser may be required before Brow & Blink can create the soft, modern style shown in the studio’s portfolio.
Style Preferences & Other Treatments
I want very bold, glam brows but the Brow & Blink photos look quite natural. Is that possible?
Brow & Blink specialises in flattering, seamless brows and lip blush that look good both with and without makeup, so some extreme looks may not be recommended for certain skin types. If you wear full glam daily, your artist may suggest a slightly stronger brow (for example, combination brows) that still heals softly but works with your everyday routine.
Can I have Botox, fillers, or other cosmetic treatments before or after my brows or lip blush?
Plan injectables around your tattoo appointments so your features are settled and not changing shape. As a general guide, allow at least 2 weeks either side for Botox and 4 weeks either side for fillers in the same area, and avoid strong peels or active treatments directly over your brows or lips before or after your sessions.
Skin, Health & Suitability
I have sensitive skin. Do I need a patch test?
All products used by Brow & Blink are cosmetic‑grade and sterile, and reactions are rare, but sensitivity is always discussed during your consultation. If you have a history of allergies or reactions, mention this when booking so your artist can advise whether a patch test is appropriate.
I get pimples, eczema or dermatitis in my brow area. Can I still have work done?
Active skin conditions in the treatment area usually need to be clear before tattooing for safety and the best healed result. Certain medicated creams can also thin the skin, so you should provide a list of products and medications in advance so Brow & Blink can advise.
What can make me unsuitable for the procedure?
Some medications and health conditions can affect healing, bleeding, and pigment retention. If you take medications such as blood thinners, strong acne medication, oral steroids, or have conditions like uncontrolled diabetes, keloid scarring, or active psoriasis/dermatitis in the area, you must advise Brow & Blink before booking so your artist can assess your suitability and, if needed, request medical clearance.
Can I have brow or lip blush treatments while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Cosmetic tattooing is not performed on pregnant clients at Brow & Blink. Due to limited research on numbing agents and pigments during breastfeeding, the studio may decline treatment while you are breastfeeding or will advise on any precautions if an exception is considered.
